3  Configuration

Hato tries to provide reasonable defaults for both root and non-root users. System-wide aliases may be provided in the standard /etc/aliases file, and user filters in the user’s  /.hato/filter file as described in the next sections.

Many other options may be specified both via command-line options and the config file (/etc/hato/config.scm for root and  /hato/etc/config.scm for non-root users). The config file is simply a (non-dotted) alist mapping the command-line option to the value (or to #t/#f for boolean options).

Since the options themselves are changing rapidly at this point, full documentation of them will be forthcoming in a later version.
